What comes to mind when you think of Green Halloween? We’re not talking Frankenstein, green witches or scaly green swamp creatures.
Green Halloween®
is a non-profit Seattle based initiative whose goal is to create healthier and more Earth-friendly holidays, starting with Halloween. L
Backed from the beginning in 2007 by Whole Foods Market and later joined by Kiwi Magazine
and HGTV Start at Home, the initiative expanded nation-wide. In cities across the country, the Halloween holiday is turning healthy and eco-friendly.l
To support these ‘green’ efforts while offering kids an opportunity to get new to them costumes, National Costume Swap Day was born. The offical kick off for the 2010 Swap Day is this Saturday, October 9. Stop by Green Halloween’s website where you can Find a Swap in your area, Register your Swap or ideas on how you can help Spread the Word on making Halloween more eco-friendly.
