Make Your Halloween a Little Greener…

What comes to mind when you think of Green Halloween?  We’re not talking Frankenstein, green witches or scaly green swamp creatures.

L

l
To support these ‘green’ efforts while offering kids an opportunity to get new to them costumes, National Costume Swap Day was born.  The offical kick off for the 2010 Swap Day is this Saturday, October 9.   Stop by Green Halloween’s website where you can Find a Swap in your area, Register your Swap or ideas on how you can help Spread the Word on making Halloween more eco-friendly.

What to Look for When Shopping for Baby Sunglasses

Luckily, there are many companies that make baby sunglasses that offer excellent protection from these harmful UV rays. But all sunglasses are not created equal; here's what you should look for when shopping for baby sunglasses.

  • Coverage all the way around the eye: sunglass lenses should cover the entire area around your baby's eye - including the sides.
  • Frame flexibility: babies can be tough on their stuff. Make sure that baby sunglasses have a bit of give or flexibility so they're not easily broken.
  • Category 3 or 4 lenses: these are the darkest of lenses and will give your baby the ultimate in protection. Avoid sunglasses that have light colored lenses.
  • UVA, UVB and UVC protection: when baby sunglasses protect against all three, you know their eyes are totally safe.
  • Wrap-around flexible band: a flexible, elastic band will make sure sunglasses stay put and that baby can't pull them off. You will find these with both Velcro closure and without.
